My weekend in pictures...

I am not a big football fan.
I'm not a sports fan at all actually, unless my hometeam is winning.
Yeah, I know-fair weather fans are horrible people, so I guess I'm horrible.

BUT, I couldn't miss the chance to check out Super Bowl village, since I live in Indianapolis.

Now, you have to understand that exciting things come to Indiana every few years  NEVER.
So, I'm pretty sure that every Indianapolis citizen was battling the cold weather to check out
the excitement, including my family and myself.

While we were in the BIG CITY, we were also able to go to a Christian concert,
which was a lot of fun.
Overall, a great weekend
(until Sunday came and Del and I came down with the flu...)

[NEW] Mixed Metals Heritage Collection!!

Sometimes I feel like winter lasts an eternity, while summer is just a short blip of the year.

It has been bitterly cold here, and I am ready for a warm up.

It was time to add a little warmth to our designs...

Tag...You're It Jewelry is introducing our
I love, love, love our fine and sterling silver, but I sometimes need a little color in my life.

Along with our fine and sterling silver, this collection also includes copper, brass, and swarovski crystals.

The metals in this collection have the warmth you need to beat the

winter blues.

Most of the designs in our shop are sterling silver,
but we thought it was time to shake it up a little

We're now including a more vintage, oxidized copper that we have distressed during the jewelry making

These pieces remind me a fireplace crackling during these cold evenings.

This new collection will be available this week in our ETSY SHOP and WEB SHOP!

Don't forget- you can favorite, bookmark, and pin!

Embrace the Camera Thursday!

I haven't been lugging my camera everywhere, so I have been taking more Instagram pics.

Del has been spending a lot of time in her pajamas lately. When it is cold and snowy outside and I know we
won't be leaving the house, I just don't see the point of dressing her.  Is that bad?

I put up my Valentine's Day wreath.  Here is the tutorial:
It is $2.99 at the Christmas Tree Shops.

Indy FINALLY got an Anthrolopogie store!!
 Can I afford anything?
But I can browse like a champion.

We made our fourth trip to the Children's Museum since we were given an annual pass last month.
Love the carousel.

Oh, and finally my embrace the camera picture.  I took this when we were playing at an indoor playground last week.

Are you embracing the camera?  Be sure to capture some memories in your life!!

Falling Glitter

I love snow.  I told Mr. H yesterday that it was sparkling and looked just like glitter falling from the sky when I was watching it yesterday.

There is so much ugliness in this world, but I think the fact that God sends down glitter from the sky is beautiful.

[No, this picture is not altered.  That IS a profile of Del's belly.  It's pretty cute when you're only 1.]

Sticks and stones...

On Monday afternoons, I tutor a 3rd grade girl for an hour at my local library.  Yesterday, we headed back to the study rooms to see if there were any available.  When we got there, there were a few people quietly studying at tables, including a mom and her young son.  The 2 study rooms were occupied- there were about 12 teenage girls in each room (probably about middle school age).

Before we turned to find another spot one of the girls started yelling.  She was a very pretty young girl and was clutching a cell phone in one hand.  There was another girl standing in front of her and the cell phone girl started yelling in her face-
"Why do you keep following us?
We don't like you and we don't want you around us!
Go find someone else to follow and stay away from us!

The adults, including myself, were just staring and watching the girl yell.  I honestly didn't know what to do, but my heart broke for the so-called "stalker".

I wanted to hug her.
I wanted to tell her that she should never want to be friends with those girls anyway.
I wanted to tell her to hold her head up high and tell her she was wonderful.
I wanted to go up to the mean girl and ask her why she would speak to someone like that because people shouldn't treat other people like that.  [I also kind of wanted to tape her with my cell phone, tell her it was going on youtube and that I was labeling it, "horrible ugly-on-the-inside mean girl in the library" but I think that was MY mean girl coming out].

Instead, I turned around with my 2nd grade girl and looked for another spot to tutor.  I did decide to tell the library staff about it, since they were obviously not studying and a girl was yelling.  in the library.

The whole situation bothered me all evening.  I would never want my daughter to be that bully in the situation OR the girl being yelled at.  I'm sure she was humiliated and even if she did act fine, I think the scars were already there.

It reminded me that my most important job is not making jewelry.  It is not keeping my house spotless and it is not making sure dinner is on the table every night [not that I am succeeding at that by any means].  My most important daily job is raising my child.  I am responsible for a person.  And I want her to be caring, loving, gentle, confident, joyful, and a follower of Christ.  Although the last one is out of my control, I do pray for it daily.

Since Del was born I have been worried about her health, her safety, her happiness, and her future.  Yesterday I was reminded that my focus and prayers should also be on the
kindness and gentleness of her spirit

That is a serious job to have and I think I needed the reminder yesterday that it is much more important job than being "successful" in this world

Embrace the Camera 2012

I really wanted to get back to Embracing the Camera on Thursdays.  I still have 1 hour and 30 minutes left until it is Friday, so I think it still counts.

My in-laws bought us a wonderful Christmas present this year: an annual family pass to the Indianapolis Children's Museum.  It is a fabulous museum and today was my third trip since receiving the pass a week and a half ago.

When I went a few weeks ago, Mr. H took Del down the slide a few times (and yes, I still planning on blogging about that too, I just haven't done it yet).  So today, it was my turn to bravely sit on a sack and pray my hips didn't get stuck in the slide halfway down.

Brodi and I took a trip with the kids today and although we were there for three hours, we only made it through one (out of five) floors and down the slide a couple times.

Yes, my pictures are unedited, but one of my goals is to simplify and organize this year, so I'm simplifying by not spending two hours on collaging pictures together. :)

P.S. Only one more day to enter the Tag...You're It! Giveaway and take advantage of the New Year's Sale!
