If you follow us on Facebook, I'm sure you know all about our "5 seconds of fame" with The Vampire Diaries. One of our necklaces was worn by Nina Dobrev, the character of Elena, on episode 412 of TVD, which aired in late January. Our local newspaper wrote an article about it, which ended up on the front page with a few pictures, so that was also pretty exciting. I kind of felt like people finally realized that when I said "I make jewelry", I wasn't stringing beads on fishing wire and selling them at a school bake sale
(at least that is what used to come to my mind when someone said they made jewelry for a living).
You can find the necklace here.
The same week that we were on The Vampire Diaries, we were also featured in a gift guide for The Huffington Post.
My husband probably got tired of me offering him my autograph and singing "If I Wasn't a Celebrity" from NSYNC that whole week. (Ok, I didn't actually do that- just in my head).
The excitement has settled down, but we do have some great things coming up this year. We have started making more men's items, such as collar stays, keychains, and tie bars.
We also started making fine silver thumbprint jewelry and necklaces made from actual handwriting. Although we do not have these items for sale yet, they will be available soon!
In the next few weeks, we will be introducing our birthstone collection in time for Mother's Day. I cannot WAIT to get these pieces for sale. I will give you a hint about the new collection: It will feature a new material we have been working with....
Okay it's gold.
I can't keep a secret!! We will soon by offering some gold-filled hand stamped designs, which are absolutely beautiful.
In other news, I have just started applying of craft shows this week. We still like to participate in about five craft shows a year- they are fun and provide some extra income during the slower months, so if you are in the Indy area, you'll have to come see us!
