Embrace the Camera

I am very thankful this week.

I am thankful for my little girl.

I am thankful that she is healthy.

I am thankful that I can squeeze her tight and give her hugs.

I am thankful that she gives me more kisses than I deserve.

embracing the camera [phone]

I'm embracing the camera today- with a green wig and sharing some other instagram pics.
We had a good time at a birthday party over the weekend [obviously].
My favorite part of the day was when Delaney would quietly take all of the birthday girl's new toys into the photobooth to play with them.

I haven't been taking a lot of pictures lately with my new camera.  I think I'm super paranoid ever since I ruined my old camera with cherry cola.  I don't love my camera phone, but when you instagram them, they instantly look better, like I tried to make them look fuzzy and faded.

Delaney likes to mix all of the paint together until it's dark brown and green and looks like poop.  I think I'm supposed to keep all of her artwork, but it all just looks like a dirty diaper.

This is how Mark and I spent Memorial Day.
He likes to say we are old souls.
If old souls like to watch the sun go down
while sitting on a porch in a rocking chair,
listening to big band music,
eating a strawberry ice cream cone,
and watching people blow up a hot air balloon...
then he is right.

Delaney baby beach body might be the highlight of my summer.
This girl rocks the baby rolls in her tankini.
We've been spending almost every day rotating between my grandma's pool,
our neighborhood pool, and the town splash pad.
What did we ever do in the winter??

We have some new pictures!!  Super excited- this is our facebook banner.
Hopefully the website will be updated in the next few weeks...

Don't forget to embrace the camera- even if it with your phone!!

summer evening, handmade dresses, and a baby.

A couple of weeks ago, my mom called to tell us that everyone was coming over for brownies that night.

"Is there an occassion?"  I asked.  "No, Brit (my sister-in-law) wants to get together because she hasn't seen anyone for a while."

That was a perfect explanation to me.  It had been a while (about two weeks, which is a while for my family) since we all got together.

But Brodi immediately concluded that the only reason to have a non-dinner just brownie get together was because G & B (our brother and sis-in-law) must be making an announcement.

"There is no way that they are making a pregancy announcement, Brodi.  It is JUST brownies.  You are reading way to much into this."

I was wrong!
I guess a just brownie get together is secretly code for a pregnancy announcement because they announced we will have another baby in the family in December!

After the announcement, we ate more brownies and had the girls put on their new dresses that their great-grandma made for them.

I LOVE handmade dresses.  And Delaney LOVES her cousin "IGICK" (Isaac).

Even though you are in a fancy handmade dress, it doesn't mean you can't have a pile on in the grass.  Dress can't stay clean forever.

I think they were talking about the new baby in the family and how they will be the first to lift him or her up and push them in the stroller.

In TYI news, we had our first show of the year a few weeks ago.  It is SO much work, but I always enjoy craft shows.  I love shopping at them as much I enjoy selling at them.  It is fun to meet other people who are also trying to make a business work for them by using their creativity and abilities and hand making items to sell.

We were blessed to be busy during the entire show, so I didn't even have a chance to take a picture with me in it, or a picture of any other booths.  We have really made a lot of changes to our booth since we first started.  Here is a picture of our booth at this show LAST YEAR

Since then, we have made a lot of changes.  The black curtain did NOT belong to us (it was the booth's behind us), but we realized we loved the divider.
We found a gorgeous green divider, bought a dress form who we named Bettie Jean (she is currently in a trash bag in my garage, which kind of creeps me out), have a new business card design, found fitted table cloths, changed our layout and updated all of our pictures, of course.

Here is a picture of our booth from the same show, THIS YEAR

We have another show in 2 weeks, where we have to set up our own tent, which is a bit more work, but gives us more space.

The best part about this show is that the majority of the orders were premade necklaces and not custom orders.  We love custom orders, but it is nice when our premade necklaces are sold and our work is done!

I look forward to a great craft show season this year!
